Springfield Armory Releases the Prodigy 9mm in Coyote Brown
Springfield Armory’s Prodigy is a 1911 for the 21st Century. With its polymer frame and double stack magazine, it holds an impressive 27+1 rounds of 9mm, with a a spare extended mag offering 20+1 capacity. There’s even an optional 26-round magazine available. It’s proved popular since it was first released back in 2022, and now Springfield is updating it with 1911 DS Prodigy 9mm in Coyote Brown, using an H-250 Coyote Brown Cerakote finish.
The Coyote Prodigy is available with a 4.25– or a 5-inch bull match-grade barrel. They’re optics ready using Springfield’s AOS (Agency Optic System) plates that incorporate an integrated rear sight.The Prodigy ships with a HEX Dragonfly-compatible plate, but other optic-specific plates are also available. Low-capacity versions are also available if you live behind enemy lines in a ban state.
