SACRAMENTO, CA (1-minute read) — A dramatic series of events unfolded in South Sacramento on Friday afternoon when an attempted home burglary led to a high-speed chase across the region. Around 3 p.m., deputies from the Sacramento County Sheriff’s Office responded to reports of a burglary on the 7200 block of Chandler Drive.

According to authorities, the suspect tried to break into a house while the homeowner was inside. Acting in self-defense, the homeowner fired a shot at the intruder.
